Dybala sits out Argentina’s friendly with UAE

Paulo Dybala did not participate in Argentina’s pre-World Cup friendly with UAE which resulted in a 5-0 victory for Scaloni’s men. The Roma attacker, among others, was sent to the stands before the match.

Following the final whistle, however, Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni warned the media that the team’s squad list may still change, with Dybala and Fiorentina’s Nico Gonzalez facing potential exclusion from the World Cup.

“We have some minor problems, and we have a few days to finalize the list. We can still change it, we hope not, but there is this possibility,” Scaloni told reporters at full time.

“I’m not even saying that they will leave the list. There are several players who have been left out of the squad today because they were unfit to play or there was a risk.”

“I can’t guarantee these players are okay in the long run. In principle yes, but you have to be careful. For this reason some have been left out and we limited their minutes.”
