Dzeko and Mkhitaryan limited in training, El Shaarawy still positive for COVID-19

RomaPress – Roma could be without several key pieces for this weekend’s league match against Hellas Verona.

The Giallorossi will host the Venetian side on Sunday evening at the Stadio Olimpico as they commence the second half of their Serie A campaign but it remains to be seen if Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be available.

The attacking pair, along with Pedro, were limited to individual work during today’s training session and their status for Sunday remains a question mark. Dzeko has been embroiled in transfer rumors throughout the past week following his row with manager Paulo Fonseca while Mkhitaryan has been dealing with a muscle injury for over a week.

Dzeko’s new agent, Alessandro Lucci, hasn’t received any concrete offers for his client and it’s becoming increasingly likely that the Bosnian will remain in the Italian capital for the remainder of the season.

Meanwhile, Roma were forced again earlier today to delay Stephan El Shaarawy’s medical exams. Il Faraone is still testing positive for COVID-19 and cannot complete his return to the club until he tests negative.
