Earlier today, Edin Dzeko was announced as a new Inter player. The 35-year-old Bosnian thus ends his Roman adventure after six years in the capital.
The former Roma captain decided to bid farewell to the club and fans with a post on Instagram:
“Ciao Roma, after 6 years the time has come to part ways. These days I’ve felt so many contrasting emotions: on one hand I’m very motivated for the new adventure that awaits me, on the other hand I have a huge lump in my throat because I know what I’m leaving behind.”
“I know very well that a simple thank you is not enough to express all of my gratitude to the Giallorossi fans, Roma and the eternal city.”
“I’ve lived some wonderful years in the capital which I will never forget. On the pitch and off. The league matches, the Derbies, the Champions League nights, the goals. I am honored to have been able to wear the captain’s armband and to have made the fans cheer 119 times. At the same time I am saddened that I have never been able to gift them the joy of winning a trophy.”
“For six years I have worn this shirt with pride, fighting in the wins and in the losses together with my teammates, my coaches, and everyone who’s been part of this club, together with the fans that are crucial for what I considered to be my family.”
“i want to thank everybody who’s helped me and my wife Amra on this wonderful adventure and I thank this city that has witnessed the birth and growth of our three children.”
“You will all have forever a special place in my heart. Grazie Roma.”
