Edin Dzeko’s future at Roma remains a major question mark that will be addressed in the coming weeks.
The Bosnian is entering his seventh season with the Giallorossi, however, he’s been increasingly linked with an exit from the club this summer after his turbulent past two seasons under Paulo Fonseca. He was very close to departing the capital club on two occasions last season in both the summer and winter transfer markets.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future under new manager José Mourinho, many are interpreting a recent social media post from Dzeko as a hint at wanting to remain in Rome.
“My nineteenth season as a professional, but still increasingly motivated and charged-up,” he wrote on Instagram.
The Giallorossi have been heavily linked with a summer transfer move for a new first choice striker, with Torino’s Andrea Belotti and Stuttgart’s SaÅ¡a Kalajdžić rumored to be potential candidates for the job.
Mourinho was asked last week during his unveiling about the status of the 35 year-old attacker, however, he stated that the matter would be discussed internally before any decisions are made.
