Roma striker Edin Dzeko was interviewed today by Sky Sport UK following yesterday’s victory against Sassuolo. The Bosnian discussed his new teammate, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and also touched upon the recent racist incidents in Italy.
“I think racism is a bigger problem in Italy than in other countries, especially compared to England. I hope, for the sake of the other players, that these things end and that the Federation realises this and does everything possible to end it. The Federation must protect players — it’s the only way. If you hear someone doing this, then they should be banned from the stadium”.
Roma’s number 9 was then asked about recent addition Henrikh Mkhitaryan, “He did what we expected. He’s a great player who I remember from his time at Borussia Dortmund. I hope he can stay for a long time at Roma”.
