Roma striker Edin Dzeko gave an extensive interview today to La Stampa – here’s what the Bosnian had to say:
With Florenzi off the pitch, you’re the captain.Â
This armband has been worn by Totti and De Rossi, it’s weighs on you – but I’m ready.
What has changed since they left?
There was more personality – especially off the pitch – with them here so something was lost. Now it’s up to me, Kolarov, Fazio, Mirante and Florenzi us lead because there are so many youngsters here.
Dzeko to Inter looked done, then what happened?
The transfer window is too long and it weight on me. My mind was everywhere. I talked to Fonseca on the first day of preseason and told him that I still felt like a Roma player.
Are you considered a new purchase?
I am more motivated and happy. You certainly do more when you feel like this.
What qualities must a coach have to get into Dzeko’s head?
He must have personality and be honest. Fonseca is like this: he speaks to you frankly even when you don’t play, he knows how to give importance to everyone. He made us understand that there is a project here.
Is Juventus unbeatable?
They are always the favorites, but Inter can worry them. Conte conveys confidence.
And Roma?
After a negative start, we recovered. We didn’t want to lose to Parma, but this club must always stay high in the table.
