Roma striker Edin Dzeko was all small after eliminated Ajax this evening in the Europa League.
The Giallorossi advanced past the Dutch giants 3-2 on aggregate and now prepare to face Manchester United in the semi-final round of the competition.
“We suffered a lot over these two legs, but the most important thing was advancing to the next round,” he said to Sky Sport. “We deserve to advance to the semi-final.”
“Though, we haven’t had an easy path to this semi-final, Braga, Shakhtar, and Ajax are all strong teams. Now another strong one awaits us in Manchester United. But we’re Roma and we must give everything in order to advance to the final.”
He continued, “I’ve had ups and downs this season, it hasn’t been my best on a personal level but I don’t want to look in the past. What happened, happened — but we’ve reached a European semi-final and certainly many didn’t expect it.”
“Many of the guys here will be playing in their first semi-final, we need to have fun because it’s not as if we get to play at Old Trafford every week.
He added, “My future? There’s still a semi-final and eight league matches left, we’ll see after. As I’ve always said, if I’m on the pitch, I will always give everything for Roma: today, tomorrow, and in the future…just like I’ve always done.”
