Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove reacted to the team’s defeat to Lazio in the Derby della Capitale.
In his post-match interview with Sky Sport, Bove also addressed the beer bottle that was thrown at him from the stands of Lazio supporters.
“They hit me on the head with a beer bottle, I didn’t think it was appropriate to cause controversy or make any scenes. The authorities will resolve this type of problem, something like this is not normal. I prefer to talk about what happened on the pitch,” he said.
“The first half was very balanced, in the second half we immediately went behind due to an episode that could have happened to both sides. Then it’s difficult to change the course of the game, we were in difficulty after the goal we conceded and it took us a little too long to get back on the right path. We never gave up and created chances at the end, but we weren’t able to materialize them.”
“Derbies are very tense matches, the quality of the game sometimes fails on both sides. In the first half Lazio didn’t create much either, after the 1-0 we were in difficulty. We can improve, but we are on the right path. It hurts to lose these types of matches, but we must restart from the strength of the group and unite.”
“Huijsen? I congratulate him because he played with great personality. He made himself available to everyone. He has great qualities and we are close to him. I don’t think a penalty affects his performance. He is a very good lad and has settled in very well.”
