El Shaarawy before kick-off against Genoa: “It’s a special match for me.”

Roma attacker Stephan El Shaarawy will make his first league start this afternoon.

The Italian will lineup alongside Pedro and Borja Mayoral in attack against Genoa, his former club.

“It’s a special match for me. Facing Genoa always brings back happy memories,” he said to DAZN.

“The club  will always be a part of my life and career.”

El Shaarawy was then asked about Paulo Fonseca’s system of play and how he’s felt under the Portuguese tactician since returning to the club.

“It’s a system similar to the one we used in the past. Except instead of playing wide, the two midfielders play more inside. We have high quality players who can be interchanged. There aren’t many problems from this point of view.”
