Roma attacker Stephan El Shaarawy gifted a narrow 1-0 victory to the Giallorossi in last night’s friendly with Casa Pia in Algarve.
After the final whistle, the Italian international was asked about the rumours surrounding Mourinho and Portugal’s managerial vacancy.
“We have never talked to him about this possibility, we think the coach is very focused on Roma, on the objectives we have, on doing well here,” El Shaarawy told Il Messaggero.
“He is always present, in every situation. He’s extremely focused and very personal in how he talks to us in the locker room, or during the match, in giving us the right directions.”
“He seems happy, he’s got a big heart and is instinctive, so I think the important thing for him now is Roma. And we all hope that he can stay here for a long time.”
