El Shaarawy marks Roma return in victory over Braga

RomaPress Staff

Roma attacker Stephan El Shaarawy finally marked his return to the club following the transfer move he made three weeks ago.

“Il faraone” sealed a move back to the Giallorossi in January, but was held out of the last four games by manager Paulo Fonseca as the 28 year-old worked to get match fit.

In the 71st minute, though, Fonseca handed El Shaarawy his season debut and brought him on to replace Pedro.

“Finally, my debut arrived,” he said smiling to Sky Sport. “I’m happy to be back here and be on the pitch. We got a good win so I’m feeling great.”

“Braga are a tough team plus we were forced to adapt after we lost a few guys to injury, but we all sacrificed. We have such good players who are all demonstrating their quality. I hope to be able to give my contribution to the team, too.”
