El Shaarawy, Pellegrini & Spinazzola to return in January

Roma’s busy schedule for the month of December will force Jose Mourinho to adapt to the numerous injuries the roster has suffered so far this season.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Giallorossi hope to secure additional reinforcements in January. However, the primary concern and focus of the club is on the recovery of three key players sidelined with injuries.

The Italian newspaper reports that Stephan El Shaarawy, who came off in the second half of the loss to Bologna with a calf injury, is likely to miss the remainder of the month.

Although his condition is monitored day-by-day, The Special One does not want to risk the 29-year-old.

A return in January for all three Italian internationals – El Shaarawy, Pellegrini and Spinazzola – will certainly help the team regroup and pick up their form.

Spinazzola is expected to undergo a final control consultation with his surgeon and Roma’s medical staff which will allow him to return to group training once and for all.
