Stephan El Shaarawy’s entourage were quick to respond to the recent allegations of the player’s involvement in the betting scandal.

Following Fabrizio Corona’s accusation toward the Roma attacker on Striscia La Notizia, El Shaarawy’s lawyers released a statement to ANSA, dismissing the allegations – which were proven to lack evidence by the Prosecutor’s Office in Turin – and announcing the pursuit of legal action against Corona.

“Stephan El Shaarawy and betting, of any kind, have nothing in common. He has never bet nor was he ever interested in doing so,” said the statement penned by his layers – Matteo Uslenghi e Federico Venturi Ferriolo.

“Stephan remains serene in the face of totally unfounded and slanderous accusations. Everything comes as a consequence, first and foremost every inevitable action to protect our client will be taken. This is what we have to say regarding the rumors of these hours on further revelations, complete with video/audio, by Fabrizio Corona on Striscia la Notizia.”
