El Shaarawy responds to illegal betting accusations

Stephan El Shaarawy responded to the accusations made towards him by Fabrizio Corona about his alleged involvement in illegal betting.

Shortly after his legal team announced the filing of a lawsuit against Corona, El Shaarawy released a message on his personal Instagram story.

“I’m not a person who likes to expose themselves publicly, but what has happened in the last few days is beyond any limit. I believe that I have always been appreciated for my manners, my discretion and dedication to work, in this sport that I love.”

“Despite this, today I find myself having to defend myself, as in the past, the victim of those who accuse me of having committed acts that by my nature I could never carry out. And anyone who knows me even a little knows it.”

“Never judge based on hearsay, don’t listen to facts or people without checking, don’t comment by fueling the spread of false news without having proof, because believe me: when you find yourself on the other side it really hurts.”
