A switch of allegiances? Perhaps.
Roma left-back Emerson Palmieri, who was born in Brazil but holds an Italian passport due to heritage, is closing in on a switch of national teams, according to Sky Sport.
The possibility of Emerson wearing the Azzurri shirt is becoming more concrete, however, Italy must wait for the player. Why? Because FIFA must first approve the switch. Once the expected “OK” arrives, Palmieri will be at he disposal of Italian national team manager Giampiero Ventura. Emerson has only ever represented Brazil at the U-17 level.
