Emidio Oddi reflects on Roma’s transfer window & potential with Mourinho

Former Roma defender Emidio Oddi – who collected over 150 appearances for the club between 1983 and 1989 – reflected on the team’s potential to compete for top four this season.

Oddi was especially optimistic regarding Roma’s attacking potential. “The attack, with Dybala, Abraham, Pellegrini and Zaniolo is among the very best offensive lines in Serie A,” he told Centro Suono Sport.

“Then there is also Spinazzola who is a fullback but plays like a winger. He’s one of the best in the world at what he does.”

“Roma have gotten better this summer and are ready to compete with the likes of Inter, Milan and Juventus,” he added.

“Perhaps something’s still missing from a defensive standpoint. Smalling is way too important and must be managed carefully throughout the season.”

“I think Mourinho is wise in not making any big statements in his press conference. He always knows what to do. He’s the best coach in the business.”
