Roma secured their third win in a row after defeating Empoli by a scoreline of 4-2 at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.
All four of the Giallorossi’s goals came in the first half through a Tammy Abraham brace, Sergio Oliveira, and Nicolo Zaniolo with Jose Mourinho’s men entering halftime with a 4-0 lead.
Roma’s foot came off the gas in the second half and things got a bit nervy after the Tuscans scored twice to cut the lead in half.
Empoli continued to knock on the door until the very end, but Roma managed to hold on and wrap-up the victory.
Meanwile, Roma striker Tammy Abraham discussed his team’s performance at full-time after he secured his ninth and tenth league goals.
“They brought me here to help the team with goals and assists,” Abraham told DAZN. “Luckily we scored a lot of goals tonight.”
Despite the attacking output, the Englishman lamented his team’s approach following the break.
“I think our attitude was off in the second half. Unfortunately, this is something that can happen after you go into halftime with a 4-0 lead.”
He added, “They gave us problems in the second half, they’re a good team. The manager warned us that Empoli have the ability to come back from four goals.”
