Gerson could leave Roma this summer as Empoli have come forward and expressed their interest in the player, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The Tuscan club have requested the Brazilian on loan as negotiations with the Giallorossi are underway. Gerson could leave and join former Roma interim boss Aurelio Andreazzoli in Tuscany at Empoli.
