Empoli boss Davide Nicola shared his delight at the team’s 2-1 win over Roma which granted them salvation in the battle against relegation.
In his post-match interview with DAZN, Nicola commented, “I must say that the salvation here against Empoli was, due to the play expressed and the journey made in the 18 games, one of the best from this point of view. I’m talking about style of play, the desire to believe in it.”
“We played with ideas and the courage to put them into practice. We had a good first half, aggressive against a great team, who put us in difficulty. I am happy for this environment, the president, the players and the sporting director.”
“Tonight Roma gave us problems but we believed in a result until the end,” he added.
