Empoli boss Davide Nicola was asked about Tommaso Baldanzi’s decision to move to Roma on the last day of the January window.

Nicola – who took over from Andreazzoli earlier last month – declared himself ‘happy’ for the 20-year-old.

During today’s press conference, Nicola commented on the matter: “I think it’s simple on my part, but on the part of the whole environment as well. We’re happy for him because it’s a great opportunity and I’m also happy for De Rossi who will have the possibility to coach him.”

“It’s normal that a player like him decided to take off, because he’s a boy of great moral values before being a great player,” said Nicola.
