Roma are reportedly prioritizing the addition of another defender to their roster in January.

The capital club want to secure a replacement of Evan Ndicka before the Ivorian’s departure to AFCON which will render him unavailable throughout January and February.

As a result, Roma are being linked with several names of players who have fallen out of favor with their respective teams.

Among these names is Eric Dier’s – the English centreback is set to leave Tottenham in January as his contract expires next summer and the player has gotten zero minutes all season long so far.

Dier’s arrival could be favored by Jose Mourinho’s presence seeing as the Englishman is a specific request made by the Special One, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Tottenham would likely accept a small fee in January rather than losing Dier on a free in the summer.
