Manolo Zubiria, Roma’s Chief Global Sporting Officer, spoke to Sky Sport after the Giallorossi drew KAA Gent in the round of 32 in the Europa League. Here’s what he had to say after learning of Roma’s Europa League fate:
Have you taken the draw well?
The teams that are here are all pretty strong. We are ready for the two clashes with Gent.
It could have gone worse.
Of course, though, I think all the other teams were worried about us. But it went well.
What is the goal of for the Europa League?
We set ourselves the goal of going as far as possible.
It’s a big objective for Fonseca.
Yes, absolutely. The Mister managed these six group games well. We were ready for any team, we were not afraid of anyone and I think many other teams were afraid to draw us.
Roma must make a good path in this competition.
Absolutely yes. We all agree on this. Us and Inter must move forward as much as possible in this competition. We have the ambition and a great desire to move forward in the Europa League.
