Roma centreback Evan Ndicka has decided to skip international duty and remain at Trigoria for the duration of the break.
The 24-year-old was ultimately excluded from Ivory Coast’s squad list for the upcoming friendlies with Benin and Uruguay: the player is dealing with muscle fatigue and Roma had asked Ivory Coast’s federation to allow him time to recover.
According to Corriere della Sera, Ndicka is risk-free and will focus on resuming group training under the guidance of Daniele De Rossi ahead of Roma’s next Serie A fixture with Lecce scheduled on 1 April.
