Former Inter manager Andrea Stramaccioni defended Roma in light of recent criticism aimed at Mourinho’s side.
The Italian technician addressed the team’s positive European campaign in a recent interview with calciomercato.it.
“Personally, considering my vision of football, I don’t like to ride the roller coaster of emotions,” said Stramaccioni.
“After the victories obtained against Juventus, Salzburg and Real Sociedad, three important performances, Roma ran into negative results. Since day one, Mourinho has given this team a precise identity, which you may or may not like. Right now, in my opinion, he’s at a classic crossroads.”
“But this is Roma and he wants it like this, with a strong identity, not playing sparkling football, but that’s what he wants. He’s fighting for a place in the Champions League and is in the quarterfinals of the Europa League, let’s take it easy with the judgments.”
