Former Inter manager Andrea Stramaccioni analyzed the failed partnership between Nicolo Zaniolo and Paulo Dybala in light of the former’s recent decision to leave Roma only a few days away from the January transfer deadline.
“In my opinion, with Mourinho’s gameplan, Zaniolo and Dybala basically cover the same area. Last year Zaniolo was perfectly integrated with Pellegrini and Abraham up front,” Stramaccioni commented on DAZN.
“But, now there is a problem. Zaniolo and Dybala are both left-footed so they always end up looking for the ball in the same area of the pitch. The match against Milan exposed this problem despite the late comeback.”
