Former Juventus General Manager Luciano Moggi – sentenced to jail for criminal association in the Calciopoli scandal – was asked to intervene in today’s meeting of Juventus shareholders, of whom Moggi is a part of.
“They say we only win because we steal, but that’s not true,” Moggi said during the meeting, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb. “We have always won with merit on the field.”
“Perhaps, it’s the other way around. Others have stolen from us. Like in 2001, when Roma stole a Scudetto from us. That year the president of the Italian National Olympic Committee changed the rules halfway through the season, allowing Nakata to play in Turin, winning the game for them and effectively winning the league title.”
