Former Lazio goal-keeper Thomas Strakosha – who recently completed a move to the Premier League side Brentford – revealed in an interview with Sport24.gr that he had been close to joining city rivals Roma in 2015 before making up his mind and signing a long-term deal with the Biancocelesti.
“In 2015 there was the possibility of going to Roma,” said the Albanian shot-stopper. “However, once I met the coach responsible for working with goal-keepers at Lazio, Adalberto Grigioni, I decided I wanted to move there instead.”
“However, financially speaking, Roma were offering me way more than Lazio,” he added.
