Former Lazio and West Ham striker Paolo Di Canio sided with Roma when discussing Mourinho’s departure from the club.

Di Canio spoke in favor of Roma’s choice to appoint Daniele De Rossi in the place of Mourinho following the Special One’s dismissal.

In an interview with Il Messaggero, Di Canio commented, “Mourinho has already become a Fenerbahce ultra.”

“He’s already put on a new scarf and is out to collect new fans for himself. He is a man who needs people’s attention, different from the one who won everything in the past.”

“He changed a great deal after 2017. He was sacked everywhere he went, and besides, De Rossi started playing real football at Roma.”

“Like Lazio, Roma also don’t seem capable of building a top 4 team. They just missed out on the Champions League and there will be no more Lukaku next year.”
