Former Lazio captain Stefano Mauri weighed in on Gianluca Mancini’s controversial celebration following Roma’s recent derby win.

In an interview with TV Play, Mauri discussed the episode in question which involved Mancini accepting a flag donated to him by Roma ultras from Curva Sud.

The flag had Lazio colors on and displayed the cartoon of a rat.

“Jokes are permitted and you can make fun of your opponent, sure, but Mancini took it too far by waving that flag,” said Mauri.

“There’s no situation that should entail that kind of behavior,” added the former Biancocelesti captain.
