Former Lazio sporting director Igli Tare reflected on the rivalry with Roma in a recent interview with Corriere dello Sport.
In light of his departure from the Biancocelesti in the summer, Tare discussed going head-to-head with Roma as part of Lazio’s everlasting mission.
“Roma as a club have an important history,” said the Albanian executive. “They also have an insane fanbase, but it’s definitely not as good as Lazio’s. What our supporters showed in the last Derby della Capitale was just amazing.”
“Mourinho? He is an asset for Italian football, and the number one in world communication. Nobody knows how to manage moments, football situations, like him.”
“Mourinho and Allegri? Their resumes are untouchable, the results speak for themselves. First places count, no one ever remembers second place finishes.”
