Ex-Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi: “De Rossi deserves to stay at Roma.”

Former Milan and Italy manager Arrigo Sacchi shared his views on Roma’s season under Daniele De Rossi and the Giallorossi’s chances in the upcoming Europa League quarterfinals with the Rossoneri.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sacchi commented, “Roma played an excellent match against Lazio. They seem to be in good form since De Rossi’s arrival.”

“Now the team moves according to a clear gameplan. Since De Rossi has been here, in my opinion, they have had made very few mistakes. For the most part they are on point, they fight, they work hard, they are committed. And let’s not forget that it is difficult to maintain tension and balance in a place like Rome. It’s a very difficult environment to work in.”

“I really think De Rossi deserves to stay and have his contract renewed. He’s doing an excellent job,” added Sacchi.

“The team has greater resourcefulness, the atmosphere seems to be different with him in charge and he was able to regenerate a fantastic player in Pellegrini.”

“Milan? They are favorites because they play the first leg at home but I can envision a very interesting match with some surprises,” he concluded.
