Ex-Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi previews Roma return leg, praises Daniele De Rossi

Andy Mattioli

Legendary former Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi discussed tonight’s Europa League return leg between the Rossoneri and Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

During the presentation of his latest book, Sacchi said, “Both clubs are trying to do things well, De Rossi arrived recently and he couldn’t have done better than this. Pioli has had some ups and downs, but having said that, I’m not so happy when they buy too many foreigners, I’m happier when they let Italians play.”

“I don’t read into the future, but I hope that whoever deserves it will win. I focus on merit, this unknown word. I hope it will be a good match and that it will be won by whoever plays better.”

“De Rossi was a player that I would always have bought, because he was a reliable lad, someone whom you could count on. I hope he is equally good as a coach and I wish him all the best.”
