Former Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta analyzed the Rossoneri’s recent struggles, tracing them back to their defeat in the Europa League quarterfinals with Roma.

According to Costacurta, Roma are responsible for giving Stefano Pioli’s team the final blow, resulting in a disappointing season for them.

“In my opinion, the two matches against Roma somewhat ruined the atmosphere and the image of a season that could have ended on a positive note for Milan,” Costacurta told Tuttosport.

“They had the chance to continue and win the Europa League, because Roma were not superior to them, but in the end the Giallorossi wanted it more and played with a much stronger attitude.”
