Roma are searching for their next sporting director after General Manager Tiago Pinto announced his plans to depart the club in February.

As a result of Pinto’s exit, Roma have began their search for an experienced replacement that could also work within the capital club’s well known Financial Fair Play restrictions.

According to Il Tempo, former AS Monaco Sporting director and ex-Leipzig Head of Scouting, Paul Mitchell, is the latest name to have been added to the list of potential candidates for the vacancy.

Mitchell left Monaco in October. The Englishman, forty-two years old, represents a young profile, linked (as happened in the past) to the world of Red Bull which has always intrigued Roma’s ownership.

Mitchell seems to meet Roma’s requirements for the role; he is also being eyed by Manchester United.
