Former Roma manager Paulo Fonseca recently spoke to The Telegraph about the club’s decision to appoint Mourinho in the last months of his tenure as Roma’s campaign was coming to an end.
“In some countries it may not be normal, but it is normal in places like Germany to announce a manager 6-8 months earlier.”
He continued on his rapport with Tiago Pinto and Mourinho himself:
“I already knew that Tiago Pinto would choose José Mourinho. It was a clear process for me. José was great with me. He called and talked to me and there were no problems whatsoever.”
Fonseca concluded his two-year stay at Roma earlier in June after leading Roma in a total of 101 matches.
