Ex-Roma man and current Frosinone boss Eusebio Di Francesco revealed how he tried to lure Sassuolo attacker Domenico Berardi to Roma.
During his tenure in the Italian capital between 2017 and 2019, Di Francesco tried in vain to acquire Berardi with whom he worked at Sassuolo a year prior to his move to Roma.
The Giallorossi, however, did not pursue Berardi and focused on infamously acquiring Patrick Schick from Sampdoria.
“It’s a shame that Berardi hasn’t played a single Champions League match in his career,” said Di Francesco. “I wanted him at Roma but the club management were not convinced: Berardi felt belittled by them and rejected Roma’s offer,” Di Francesco told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
