Ex-Roma coach Paulo Fonseca flees Ukraine

The latest news regarding Paulo Fonseca’s situation in the Ukraine are positive, claims Il Messaggero.

The Italian newspaper reports that Fonseca and his family are safe, and have fled the city of Kiev yesterday afternoon on a bus headed to the Polish border, around 600km distant from the Ukrainian capital.

The trip was organized by the Portuguese embassy.

Before leaving Kiev, Fonseca bid farewell to fellow coach Roberto De Zerbi and other members of Shakhtar Donetsk who were, like Fonseca, trapped in the Opera Hotel.
