Former Roma defender Kostas Manolas made a stunning return to competitive action, marking his debut with Greek side Pannaxiakos in unforgettable fashion.

The 33 year-old, who rejoined his hometown club 17 years after leaving, played as a forward—netting five goals in 34 minutes during a 12-1 victory over Marpissaikos. He potentially could’ve added more to his tally—however, manager Giorgos Mostratos subbed him off ten minutes before the break.

After spending the past season with Salernitana, Manolas decided to relocate to his native Naxos with his family. The move to Pannaxiakos, a non-league club on the Greek island, represents a sentimental return for the veteran, who officially signed with the club just four days ago.

The defender first rose to prominence during his five-year tenure with the Giallorossi, scoring eight goals across 206 appearances. His most iconic moment came during the 2017-18 Champions League quarterfinals when he headed home a decisive goal in a 3-0 victory over Barcelona, helping Roma complete a dramatic comeback and reach the semi-finals.
