Former Roma defender Mehdi Benatia has decided to retire from professional football.
The Marocco international, who featured in 33 games and scoring 5 goals for Roma between 2013 and 2014, made the following announcement on Instagram:
“After more than 15 years of ‘good and loyal’ services to football, after playing in the biggest competitions, I have decided to end my career.”
“Thanks to those who allowed me to build myself along the way. I want to pay tribute to all the clubs that I have visited OM, Lorient, Tours, Clermont, Udinese, Roma… ”
