Former Roma goalkeeper Julio Sergio recently visited Trigoria where he met with ex-teammate and current Giallorossi head coach Daniele De Rossi.
Soon after his visit, Sergio was interviewed by TeleRadioStereo and asked to weigh in on Roma’s improvements under De Rossi and Mile Svilar’s recent performances.
“Daniele is fine, we talked a bit but he is working very well with Roma, and they have some extraordinary players. He was a phenomenal footballer, although being a coach is not the same, but he was ready for this role which means so much to him,” said Sergio.
“Svilar? I saw him today in Trigoria, but unfortunately I didn’t have the opportunity to speak to him. This lad has an extraordinary footballing career despite his young age and I think he is proving his worth.”
“I really like his reaction time and instinct, but also his readiness when it comes to penalty kicks, those saved in the Serie A and especially in the Europa League.”
“He is doing everything to be confirmed as Roma’s starting goalkeeper for next season too and above all at this moment he has De Rossi’s confidence which is so important his development.”
“De Rossi’s future? He seems happy and has the ownership’s trust.”
