Former Roma goal-keeper Franco Tancredi recently spoke about the future of Roma’s current shot-stopper, Rui Patricio, suggesting the Giallorossi should sign Empoli’s Guglielmo Vicario in the summer.
“First, I would look in the country,” Tancredi told Centro Suono Sport. “The Italian goalkeeper trainers are the top both at a youth level and among the seniors. If you take on a foreign goalkeeper you risk starting all over again from scratch.”
“I really like Empoli’s Vicario. Sure, it’s one thing to play at Empoli and another for Roma where there are 60,000/70,000 people attending every game.”
“It seems to me that Vicario is doing very well, he is steadily improving and reaffirming his place among the best ones in Serie A and in my opinion he is a goalkeeper who could give you 12-13 additional points in the league.”
