Ex-Roma man Christian Panucci: “They don’t have the structure to finish top four.”

Following Roma’s 3-1 defeat to Milan yesterday, ex-Giallorossi fullback Christian Panucci doesn’t believe his former side has what it takes to finish in a top four place this season.

Asked about the team’s prospects of overcoming their horrific league results, the 50 year-old was skeptical, pointing to the lack of quality within the capital club’s squad.

“Roma doesn’t have the structure to reach the Champions League,” stated Panucci during the broadcast of Sportmediaset programme “Pressing”.

“They wanted us to believe otherwise, but they’ve got very few important, high-quality players. [Paulo] Dybala is very inconsistent while [Romelu] Lukaku always plays with his back towards goal.”

Adding, “Now Roma are going to be in for a very complicated and difficult three to four months until the end of the season.”
