Current Marseille and former Roma midfielder, Kevin Strootman, is closing in on a return to Serie A.
The Dutchman, who spent five seasons in the Italian capital with the Giallorossi, is engaged in talks to join Genoa on a straight loan deal from the Ligue 1 side, according to Sky Sport.
Strootman’s role has been significantly reduced this season and he hasn’t registered a single goal or assist in 10 appearances and is in search of playing time ahead of this summer’s European championship.
Portuguese boss André Villas-Boas has preferred to use Boubacar Kamara, Pape Alassane Gueye, Valentin Rongier, and Morgan Samson in his midfield ahead of the 30 year-old, who cost the club €25 million plus €3 million in bonuses in August of 2018.
