Former Roma attacker and current Turkey manager Vincenzo Montella discussed the ascent of his ex-teammate, Daniele De Rossi, as the Giallorossi’s head coach.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Montella weighed in on the upcoming match-up with Milan in the return leg of the Europa League quarterfinals.
“He had all the signs of a great coach even back when he was a player,” said Montella of De Rossi. “It was evident by how he played.”
“However, Daniele managed to do everything in a very short time, his arrival had an incredible impact on the Giallorossi needs to be talked about more. His Roma is courageous but always logical, they have found a great balance with him in charge.”
“Dybala or Leao? They’re different, although I admit that I have a weakness for Dybala, I see myself in him a little. Even if Paulo plays further from goal.”
“Zeki Celik? He’s the classic player that all coaches would like in their team: always ready, respects tactical instructions and gives balance to the team,” said Montella of the Turkish fullback.
