Former Roma attacker Vincenzo Montella was in awe of Tammy Abraham’s imposing display in the Derby della Capitale. Montella – who still remains the only player to scare four goals in a single derby match – was interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport after personally attending the game at the Stadio Olimpico.

“It was such an emotional feeling to be back and be able to witness the derby,” said the former Giallorossi. “It’s been years since I was at the stadium, and this time around I came with my children. It was great.”

“The Roma we saw was a very good team. They were always in control, and knew how to make the best of the opponent’s mistakes. They followed Mourinho’s instructions from the start with great clarity and focus.”

Then he specifically talked about Abraham. “You know that I’ve always highly rated him. He’s a great striker, modern and very good at tracking back and finding the right space at the right time.”
