Ex-Roma president Rosella Sensi disappointed by team’s performance

Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove

Former Roma president Rosella Sensi weighed in on yesterday’s 2-2 draw between the Giallorossi and Hellas Verona.

Sensi, who left the club in 2011, was happy to see young midfield duo Cristian Volpato and Edoardo Bove score their first goals but also acknowledged the team has been underwhelming this season.

“Benedetta gioventù, indeed!” she wrote on Facebook.

“It took two youngsters in their twenties for Roma to avoid another really bad defeat. We all would’ve liked for things to have gone different. The team couldn’t match-up with the superb supporters who were at the Olimpico yesterday.”

“Though, I was moved to see the joy of Volpato and Bove as Totti and De Rossi watched on. Their jubilation, sacrifice, and desire must prove as an example for the team,” added Sensi.

“This should also be the case for the older players because Roma deserves better.”
