Ex-Roma sporting director Sabatini: “Zaniolo must be protected.”

Former Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini was asked to speak at an event ahead of tomorrow’s big match vs Inter.

The director shared his thoughts on Mourinho’s progress at Roma, Zaniolo’s struggles and more.

“Mourinho behaves and always will behave like Mourinho. I agree with him – Zaniolo must be protected.”

“Zaniolo has a way of playing that is based on physical contrasts and big talents like him must be protected and respected.”

“Totti was a demigod, he also was constantly being kicked and pushed around, but he’s not human. He could take it.”

On Roma’s chances vs Inter:

“I believe Mourinho’s team will do everything in their power to hang on to the top positions. They need this win. They need to win a big game and they know it.”

“I’m not giving Mourinho a grade for his work. His career speaks for him. His life and his career are what determine his grades.”

“The fans must be patient, Mourinho must be given everything he deserves for his history. He has great charisma and should not be undermined. It is with his charisma that he will be able to bring home the things the fans want.”
