Former Roma striker Roberto Pruzzo expressed his dismay at the refereeing display in the Giallorossi’s 1-0 defeat yesterday evening in the Derby della Capitale.

Roma had two players, Roger Ibanez and Bryan Cristante, sent off during the match while VAR overturned their 68th minute equaliser after deeming Chris Smalling was slightly offsides.

“Roma need to clarify the situation clearly with the referees,” Pruzzo told Radio Radio.

“A compromise needs to be found. Yesterday we saw five from Lazio receive bookings while Ibanez was sent off for a not-so-clear situation.”

“If I were (Dan) Friedkin, I’d start requesting foreign referees to oversee the games. Ever since Mourinho arrived Roma seemed to have suffered a record number of sending-off’s.”
