Earlier today, former Roma striker Roberto Pruzzo came to the defence of current Giallorossi boss José Mourinho.

The 66 year-old appeared on Radio Radio this morning and weighed in on Roma’s recent struggles. The capital club have drawn their last three matches, failing to take advantage of multiple opportunities to get themselves back into the top four race.

“The first thing that comes to mind about Roma are the players,” said Pruzzo.

“Just look at the midfield. A few years ago you had guys that were able to make a difference such as De Rossi, Nainggolan, Pjanic, and Strootman.”

Adding, “Certainly the manager has part of the responsibility, but I think some of the players we see both at Roma and Juventus are overrated.”

Currently Roma sit six points behind Juventus in the Serie A table for the fourth and final Champions league place.
