Roma are holding their breathe regarding midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini.
The Italian was forced to abandon the pitch in the second half during yesterday’s 0-0 draw against Sassuolo after midfielder Pedro Obiang stamped on the on his right ankle.
The club announced that the Pellegrini will undergo follow-up examinations tomorrow as the Giallorossi await to learn the extent of the injury.
Meanwhile, calciomercato.com reports that the 24 year-old is closing in on a contract renewal with Roma.
Reportedly, the capital club is set to hand the midfielder a new deal until 2025 while also removing the €30 million buyout clauses in Pellegrini’s current contract.
Roma hope to be able to announce the news of Pellegrini’s renewal in the coming weeks.
